"Political society," Aristotle wrote, "exists for the sake of noble action."  The CitizenU Laboratory will be a place to practice noble action.  Here citizens will be empowered to demonstrate the lessons they have learned.  Merely hearing without doing means little over time.  Though the word citizen may be classified as a noun our future depends upon citizen being a verb.  After learning in our library and interacting in our lounge tame your inner political animal by performing noble actions.

Directions: Read each of the following six (6) predicaments.  Carefully choose the BEST option in each.  Be prepared to qualify your decision.  Extend your understanding and take on the role of James Madison, "the Father of the Constitution."  What options would Madison have chosen?  Cite historical examples. Compare and contrast Madison's views with your own.

a. A political system with the most popular democracy possible - that is one that translated popular wants into laws and policies as efficiently as possible; or...
b. A political system that gave elected officials considerable latitude to do what they wanted to or felt best, without having to worry too much about public opinion?
